The Guymon community puts on an amazying PRCA sanctioned rodeo every year the first weekend in May. They also host a rodeo queen pageant with some great prizes. This year they had three contestants. I'm so excited and proud to say that our client KK Rule came on top with the crown and the horsmanship award! This was KK's first rodeo queen pageant and she did an amazing job!

Being a rodeo queen is so much more than just wearing a flashy shirt, big hair, hat and a crown. It starts in your heart and I believe the best rodeo queens are the ones with the biggest heart! You have to be willing to work hard and to put in the time and dedication it takes to be prepared for rodeo queen competition and the duties that follow after you win the crown!
Being a rodeo queen is a job! Yes A Job! When you send in your application for your next rodeo queen pageant you will be turning in your job application. What does that application say about who you are and what you want to do with the title when you win? Did you type it or did you hand write it? What type of paper did you print it on?
Also, attitude is a big part of being a rodeo queen. The right attitude that is! How do you present yourself to others when you meet them for the first time and what do you want them to say about you when they get that first impression and when you walk away?
Horsewoman? Being a rodeo queen does not mean you have to grow up in a rodeo family, on a ranch or even grow up competing in rodeos but you do however have to know how to ride and know parts of the horse, what you should feed and how you care for one. Also, what yearly and monthly maintenance keep you and your horse healthy and working well together?
Having basic rodeo knowledge is a great beginning but what will give you the edge over your competitors? When you compete in rodeo pageants what will separate you from the rest of the field of competitors. Where should you look for this rodeo knowledge? There are many types of resources you can use when growing your knowledge base as a rodeo queen!
